I am a passionate Scottish disability rights campaigner working alongside government , 3rd sector and higher education
I am a 23 -year-old student, researcher and disability rights activist from West Lothian I live with cerebral palsy, autism and a moderate learning disability. I am a currently an HNC social services student at West Lothian College.
Five years ago there was an opportunity during lockdown to share my lived experiences with an LD nurse to undergraduate learning disability nursing students at Edinburgh Napier university and from there the rest is history really!
I have been really fortunate to of been invited to collaborate on a few exciting accessible research projects which has opened the doors for me working internationally which has been absolutely awesome and
I have had some amazing experiences along the way and been lucky enough to meet some really interesting people from all over the world who share a common goal of enriching and empowering the lives of disabled people.
I am proud to be a human rights defender for and with people who have a learning disability and I am very privileged to work alongside a few awesome 3rd sector organisations and 3 universities so far! who work alongside disabled advocates like me to promote and champion the rights and voices of disabled people.
